Seattle Plumber Tips: Conserving water is everyone’s responsibility

Thursday, October 29th, 2009 by Roto Rooter Bloggers

Water is a precious resource, so we should all do our part to use less of it. I know water doesn’t seem to be in short supply especially in rainy areas, but it is. If your water bill seems higher than it used to be and you feel your house is using more water than it should be, hire a Seattle Plumber to do leak detection. Seattle is an area that gets a lot of rain and appears to have a healthy and abundant water supply, but one day may come when wet areas like Seattle need to pipe excess water to drier areas.

If you fix leaky faucets and toilets, you can easily save thousands of gallons of water per year.  Don’t wait, do that faucet repair. Tacoma and other Northwestern cities have the potential to save a significant amount of water simply by fixing various undiscovered leaks. This can also limit the implementation of more extreme measures like lawn watering restrictions, etc.

If you would like assistance with these pluming problems, Roto-Rooter has the right plumber from DC to California and every state in between. They’re your 24 hour plumbing provider and can provide leak detection services, faucet repairs, bathroom plumbing solutions and any other necessary Seattle plumbing and drain service.

Trenchless Excavation

Embracing new technology in our Industry is what sets Roto Rooter apart from other Seattle plumbers. Having the skill and equipment to replace a mainline and conduct a complete sewer repair for our customer without disturbing the meticulously maintained landscaping of a 100 year old home in Seattle is one of many key differences between Roto-Rooter and most other plumbers in Seattle.

As Kyle H. writes. "Thank you so much for sending Mike and Joe to our house to give us an estimate for replacing our sewer line. After the video camera inspection of the pipe and locating of the sewer line was done, they determined that it was running under a bed of Rhodies that were planted by our children many years ago. We did not want to disturb the area or any of our other landscaping but felt we had no choice. Your service technicians understood our concerns and informed us that we can do a sewer replacement by digging a hole at the house where the pipe exited and another at the sidewalk where it was still in good shape, and that they would "pull" new pipe through the 67' distance between the 2. WOW! We couldn't believe it. They did the sewer job the next day and we can't even tell that anything was done. We now have a new sewer that will outlive us. Please let Mike and Joe know how thankful we are for their expertise and effort. From now on Roto-Rooter is the only Seattle plumber we will call.

Removing Scratches from Inside the Toilet Bowl

Thursday, March 26th, 2009 by Ray Lee Master Plumbers

A customer recently commented that they scratched their toilet bowl when taking matters into their own hands with a clogged drain. Seattle is an area of DIYers, so he went to his local home store and bought an toilet auger. Faced with new residential plumbing problems, he has asked if there is anything he can use to clean marks in the toilet bowl left from the toilet auger.

Toilet auger marks are made from the steel cable scraping the china surface of the bowl,  which deposit rust.

To remove marks left from a toilet auger:

• Remove the water from the bowl
• Use a little rust remover, such as CLR or ZAP

Call Roto-Rooter Seattle Plumbers if You’re New to the Seattle Area

Thursday, March 12th, 2009 by Ray Lee Master Plumbers

We received the below response from a couple who just moved in the Seattle area.

My husband and I have recently moved into a new house in Bellevue, WA. It is our first home, so we do not know much about it or the residential plumbing. We have always lived in commercial properties.

Soon after we moved in we had a problem with our bathtub drain, Seattle is new to us, so we did not know who to call for our Seattle plumbing problems. We found Roto-Rooter online by searching drain cleaning Seattle. Not only did your plumbers do a great job fixing our drain problem, but they took the time to teach us about the plumbing in our house.

We will always use Roto-Rooter when we have plumbing problems, but hopefully we won't need it too often : )
