How to Locate a Kitchen Sink Leak
August 26th, 2008 by Ray Lee Master Plumbers
A customer in Houston recently asked, "After removing the stopper from my kitchen sink when full of water, there is water leaking under the kitchen sink cabinet. Can you help me with this plumbing repair?"

When you have a water leak, you first have to spend time locating the leak. First fill up the sink with water. Remove everything from under the sink and shine a flashlight on the piping located below the sink. Remove the stopper to release the water. You should be able to see where the water is leaking.
Once you find where the water is escaping, disassemble the parts and make the necessary plumbing repair.
This is the best advice to give without physically seeing the issue. The steps listed are the same steps plumbing contractors would use to find the sink leak.
