First Call Resolution

Thursday, August 6, 2009 by Chris Roach

There's a buzzword floating around in customer service circles called First Call Resolution. Basically it means that as a customer, you make one call for service, the technician shows up and your problem is resolved. It's what we all want from a service provider. Fast, friendly service, without hassle.

At Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain, that's our goal. One call. That's it.
Now we know there are times when more communication is needed. After all, plumbing and drains in Orlando are as erratic as plumbing and drains in New Jersey and elsewhere. If delays do occur, our Dispatch teams we'll be proactive and initiate a call or email to let you know of any appointment changes... but, knowing that Business and Home Plumbing repairs are typically unplanned and can create havoc on any schedule, we'll do our best with that one call.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain, Customer Service, and Dispatch Experts

Philadelphia Freedom

Friday, July 17, 2009 by Chris Roach

A Philadelphia restaurant owner called in today looking for some Philadelphia commercial drain cleaning freedom. It was the lunch rush and one of the floor drains was backing up quickly into the front of the store. If you've ever worked in the plumbing industry or been involved in food service you understand right away, if not, this means the back up was out with the customers, where they place their orders, or in some higher end establishments, the lobby or bar area. This is bad news for business. The fact was, customers were exiting the store, loudly in some cases, some would-be patrons, simply stepped in with one foot and quickly withdrew and headed for her competition a few doors down.

Not so surprisingly she was in a panic, she used us as her Boston plumbing company before she relocated to Philly, and said a colleague from her company also referred her to us as her Philly commercial plumbing expert. After, listening a bit she finally settled down knowing the Roto-Rooter plumbing gurus were to arrive shortly. Within 30 minutes our Superhero with a High Pressure Water Jet was on site. If you haven't seen a "jet" at work, it's phenomenal at stripping the "goo" out of a drain line (more on another blog). Bottom line, the drain backup was blasted through, the line cleaned of any further debris, guarantee rendered, they cleaned up, got themselves together and were happily serving customers before the final rush faded.

These types of backups, and kitchen plumbing repairs occur when you least expect it. Typically during the peak times of your business. We'll be back in 3 months under a Preventative Maintenance agreement to keep the rest of the lines running clear as well... during the off hours to prevent any more loss for their business. Thanks Philly Owner, you chose the right company!

The Great Outdoors... "Be Prepared"

Tuesday, July 14, 2009 by Chris Roach

If you ever wanted to know the true importance of plumbing I suggest you go camping. I'm not talking camper camping. I mean pitch a tent and sleep on the ground camping!

My family and I headed for the great outdoors recently... beautiful scenery, fresh air, and some peace and quiet from our busy everyday routines. Relaxing for sure... sitting by the campfire, casting a line in the local fishin' hole, making smores and drinking coffee that could strip wallpaper. That's the life for a novice outdoorsman...until "it" hits you. You know what I mean. I don't mean to be crude but let's face it...a little panic sets in for those unprepared, I'd say. "Lucky" for us, the locals had a portable OUTHOUSE available.  Not so pleasant I must say. My wife would have a much harsher take on it as you can imagine.

So value your plumbing, fresh water and drain systems folks and call your local Roto-Rooter if you need help...or just go camping and let reality set in!

Independence Day - Red, White and Blues

So, you're having a party this 4th. Big Barbeque... lots of friends and out of town guest... some cold drinks. I know your mind is on your shopping list, but did you consider the "facilities"? Are they up to par? What is Aunt Helen going to say about that dripping faucet or little niece Suzy about the shower drain that just won't seem to drain in the morning? And all those people... unless you've rented something "portable" they're all heading indoors to use the closest bathroom. Is it ready for the abuse? Give Roto-Rooter a call to stay one step ahead and prevent any Red, White, and Blues! nonetheless if it's too late, you know who to call for your sewer and drain issues or your plumbing woes. Roto-Rooter...That's the name!
